Professor Emi Osono, Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (Hitotsubashi ICS), a member of the Porter Prize Organizing Committee

Closing Remarks Professor Emi Osono, Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (Hitotsubashi ICS), a member of the Porter Prize Organizing Committee Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to join us today.

We are extremely grateful to the PwC Japan Group and Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., Ltd. for sponsoring the Porter Prize. We would also like to thank Value Create Inc. and Dentsu Inc. for their support.

We had presentations and discussions today about smart, connected products, a hotly debated topic of our times. Professor Fujikawa and I have created a compulsory course called "Digital Disruption" for our MBA program. In that course, we debate and discuss with students how competitive strategies and companies will change with the emergence of products and services with high fixed costs and almost zero marginal costs.

We reconsider basic theories with the digital economy in mind, to think about the extent to which such theories can be used.

As a graduate business school, we will continue pursuing research on business and management-related topics while offering educational courses and activities that will be useful to you all in the future.

Thank you.
